The priest Tinn from Talking Island, whose prophetic dreams once warned the world of Beleth's return, has experienced another terrifying vision. This time, Beleth has summoned a demon of unimaginable power.
An expedition sent to Hellbound confirms the nightmare. After destroying everything on the island, Beleth is preparing to open dimensional gates that could unleash catastrophe upon the world.
Every race must unite to stop the coming invasion.
The Armor of Eternity
Preparing for the coming battle, the world's greatest craftsmen search for a way to create armor capable of defeating the new threat.
Ancient records reveal that during the reign of Helios, the last emperor of the Giants, extraordinary armor was forged using forgotten techniques. The Black Anvil Guild succeeds in recreating the blueprints and names the legendary equipment the Armor of Eternity.
Unfortunately, the armor requires powerful magical runes from every race, along with ancient materials that no longer exist in the present.
Tobol's Time Rifts
Master Tobol improves the Time Machine Wilma III using special Ice Crystals obtained from the legendary pilgrimage to the Tablets of Vision.
The upgraded machine opens unstable Time Rifts throughout the continent.
Players must first stabilize these rifts by mining a rare ore infused with temporal energy. After completing this task, adventurers earn the right to assist Tobol in crafting the legendary equipment.
To complete the armor, players must travel into the past and gather the lost magical runes of every race.
The Ivory Tower mages also develop a spell that allows ancient magic to exist safely in the present, creating a magical artifact known as the Echo of the Past, which stores the power needed to forge each armor piece.
Human Timeline – Kazien
The first journey takes players near the Obelisk of Victory on Talking Island.
Here they meet the young wizard Kazien during the ancient war against Beleth. The surrounding lands are overrun by undead commanded by the raid boss Valok.
Kazien reveals that humanity's only hope lies within the lost Grimoire of Cranvell, containing powerful magic once taught to humans by the elves.
Players assist Kazien by defeating Beleth's forces, collecting magical artifacts, and creating the Echo of the Past that becomes the Gauntlets of Eternity.
Elf Timeline – Airen, Voice of the Moon
Near Rainbow Lake, players encounter Airen shortly after the devastating war between Light and Dark Elves.
The fortress has become a battlefield where both sides suffered enormous losses before demons invaded and slaughtered everyone indiscriminately.
Dark Elves are now preparing another assault using undead forces led by the resurrected knight Frakes.
By defeating these enemies and weakening the invasion, players recover the forgotten elven magic needed to create another Echo of the Past and continue forging the Armor of Eternity.
Dark Elf Timeline – Mitrael
A Time Rift opens above the School of Dark Arts, where players meet the young Tetrarch Mitrael before he becomes imprisoned by powerful magical seals.
Mitrael explains how humans and traitorous elves conspired to weaken the Dark Elves, leaving their summoned demons uncontrollable.
Players battle corrupted demons, including the legendary Daganiel, collecting magical artifacts used to forge the Helmet of Eternity.
Orc Timeline – Kiruna
In the Orc territories, players meet Kiruna of the Urutu tribe.
She reveals that Beleth's undead army is marching south under the command of the Death Knight Mords.
Although she dreams of marrying her human beloved, Kells, she chooses duty over personal happiness and prepares to reinforce the coming battle.
Players weaken Mords' forces, allowing Kiruna to perform her ancient Song of Victory, creating the rune that becomes the Breastplate of Eternity.
Her story later ends in tragedy, becoming one of the greatest legends remembered by the Orcs.
Dwarf Timeline – Ikhret
The next Time Rift leads into the ancient Dwarven Kingdom of Lan during the Orc invasion.
Players meet Ikhret, who sacrifices himself defending his people while they escape through the mountain tunnels.
By defeating the invading Orc army and collecting their magical artifacts, players unlock the Rune of Stability and obtain the Boots of Eternity.
Kamael Timeline – Roden Pikula
The final journey transports players to Nornil Garden during the war between the Giants and the goddess Einhasad.
Roden Pikula, the first female Spicula and ancestor of all modern Kamael, struggles to defend her people from Einhasad's angelic army led by her daughter, Karly.
As meteors rain from the sky and the Giant Empire collapses, players fight alongside Roden to delay the invasion long enough for salvation to arrive.
In gratitude, she grants the Rune of Rebirth and the final Echo of the Past, completing the Armor of Eternity.
Completing the Armor
After helping every race throughout history, players return to Master Tobol.
Using every collected rune and every Echo of the Past, the complete Armor of Eternity is finally forged and upgraded.
Only with this legendary equipment can adventurers stand against the powerful demon summoned by Beleth.
A Better Way to Tell Lineage 2's Story
This quest concept demonstrates how Lineage 2's existing locations, monsters, raid bosses, and mechanics could be combined into an engaging narrative experience. Rather than introducing entirely new systems, it builds upon the game's established lore while giving players meaningful reasons to revisit some of its most important historical events.
Although modern updates focus less on story-driven quests, Lineage 2's universe remains one of the richest in the MMORPG genre. Its world is filled with unforgettable characters, legendary conflicts, and hidden histories that deserve to be experienced through gameplay as much as through written lore.
