Introduction

Ant Nest is one of those farming locations that many players pass through without fully understanding its potential. While the area can seem chaotic due to its maze-like layout, dense monster population, and aggressive mobs, it hides one of the most profitable targets available for mid-level Scavengers.

After spending five hours farming Ant Nest with a level 36 Scavenger and Cleric duo, the results were surprisingly positive. The location offers strong spoil opportunities, decent experience, and consistent Adena income—provided you focus on the right monsters.

The Key to Ant Nest: Ant Warrior Captain

The entire farming strategy revolves around a single monster: the Ant Warrior Captain.

This level 36 monster has approximately double the health of normal mobs, but the rewards more than compensate for the extra effort.

Average Drop Value

  • Approximately 1,200 Adena per kill

  • Adena

  • Animal Bone

  • Animal Skin

  • Coarse Bone Powder

  • Stone of Purity

  • Rare Warhammer drop

  • Rare Dwarven Pike drop

The Warhammer and Dwarven Pike each have roughly a 1 in 7,000 drop chance.

Average Spoil Value

  • Approximately 1,400 Adena per kill

Main spoils include:

  • Stone of Purity (~10.5%)

  • Metallic Fiber (~45%)

  • Recipe: Metallic Fiber (~11%)

Because Ant Warrior Captains have increased HP, they also provide excellent regular drop income alongside their valuable spoil table.

This is the monster that makes Ant Nest worth farming.

Noble Ants: A Valuable Secondary Target

While Ant Warrior Captains are the main objective, Noble Ants should not be ignored.

Noble Ant Statistics

  • Level 37

  • Average drop value: ~450 Adena

  • Average spoil value: ~480 Adena

Primary spoil:

  • Cord

Additional spoils include smaller jewelry crafting materials.

Since Noble Ants frequently spawn near Captains, they make excellent secondary targets whenever mana is available.

Cord Tip

Selling Cord directly can sometimes be difficult.

If demand is low, convert it into Crafted Leather in town. Crafted Leather is usually much easier to sell and often moves faster on the market.

What About the Other Ants?

Most other monsters in Ant Nest are worth killing but not necessarily worth spoiling.

Reasons to kill them include:

  • Good experience

  • Decent Adena drops

  • Clearing spawn space

  • Encouraging more Captains to respawn

In many areas, failing to kill the weaker monsters can slow down Captain spawns, reducing overall profit.

Poison and Supplies

Several monsters inside Ant Nest can inflict poison.

Always bring:

  • Greater Antidotes

  • Healing Potions

  • Soulshots

  • Scrolls of Escape

Ignoring poison can quickly reduce farming efficiency and increase supply costs.

Finding a Good Farming Area

Getting to Ant Nest is simple:

  1. Teleport to Gludio

  2. Travel to Ant Nest

  3. Search for Ant Warrior Captain spawns

Unlike many farming zones, Ant Nest does not have one universally best room.

The dungeon consists of:

  • Tunnels

  • Chambers

  • Side passages

  • Small monster clusters

The most important factor is not the exact location but finding an area where Ant Warrior Captains spawn consistently.

Once found:

  • Kill every Captain

  • Spoil Noble Ants

  • Clear enough regular ants to keep spawns active

Avoid the Queen's Chamber

One important warning:

Do not wander into the central Queen Ant area unless you know exactly what you're doing.

The Queen and her guards can kill players almost instantly.

Curiosity is expensive inside Ant Nest.

Managing Aggro

Ant Nest becomes dangerous very quickly if players are careless.

Common problems include:

  • Tight tunnels

  • Closely packed monsters

  • Accidental multi-pulls

Players with weaker equipment should pull cautiously and avoid rushing into crowded rooms.

As the test jokingly noted:

Don't run into a room, attack the first mob you see, and then act surprised when the entire local government shows up.

Test Character Setup

The farming test was conducted using:

Scavenger

  • Level 36

  • +4 Dual Daggers

  • +4 Salamander Set

  • Top D-grade Jewelry

Cleric

  • Level 36

This setup was comfortably capable of handling the area.

Players with weaker gear can still farm here successfully but should avoid large pulls and play more conservatively.

Is Ant Nest Good for Parties?

Possibly.

The area contains:

  • High monster density

  • Consistent respawns

  • Valuable spoils

  • Strong experience

These characteristics make it attractive for group farming.

Polearm farming also appears promising due to the number of clustered monsters, although this specific test did not include polearm gameplay.

Five-Hour Farming Results

After five hours, the final loot included:

Major Loot

  • 61 Stone of Purity (~732,000 Adena)

  • 548,000 Adena from drops

  • 150 Cord

  • 134 Animal Bone

  • 234 Metallic Fiber

  • 10 Coarse Bone Powder

  • 2 Mithril Banded Gaiters

  • Cokes

  • Animal Skin

  • Various recipes and materials

Lucky Drop

  • 1 Warhammer (~440,000 Adena)

Total Loot Value

Approximately:

2.4 Million Adena

Supply Costs

Total supplies consumed:

  • 31,000 D-grade Soulshots

  • 126 Healing Potions

  • Greater Antidotes

  • Alacrity Potions

  • Scrolls of Escape

Total Cost

Approximately:

280,000 Adena

Profit Per Hour

After expenses:

~432,000 Adena per hour

It's worth noting that the Warhammer drop boosted overall profits.

Without the lucky weapon drop, Ant Nest would still produce approximately:

~400,000 Adena per hour

which remains very respectable for this level range.

Experience Per Hour

Scavenger

  • ~425,000 XP/hour

Cleric

  • ~420,000 XP/hour

The experience gain is solid and complements the strong spoil income nicely.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Excellent Ant Warrior Captain spoil table

  • Consistent Stone of Purity income

  • Good Adena drops

  • Strong experience

  • Viable for multiple party sizes

  • Potential polearm farming location

Weaknesses

  • Confusing layout

  • Heavy aggro

  • Can punish careless pulls

  • Requires active spawn management

  • Poison mechanics increase supply costs

Final Verdict

Ant Nest earns a solid A-Tier rating.

Not because it is the easiest or most comfortable farming location, but because Ant Warrior Captains provide genuinely strong profits, valuable spoils, and consistent experience.

The key is simple:

  • Prioritize Ant Warrior Captains

  • Spoil Noble Ants whenever mana allows

  • Clear surrounding monsters to maintain respawns

  • Avoid over-pulling

  • Stay away from the Queen's chamber

For Scavenger players looking for a profitable mid-level farming spot, Ant Nest remains one of the strongest options available.
