The Age of Prosperity in Aden was far from peaceful. While kingdoms flourished, rival factions such as the Lords of Dawn and the Revolutionaries of Dusk fought relentlessly for the sacred relics. Their struggle ultimately placed the relics in the hands of Zikhart, the Lord of Giran, who saw them as the key to challenging the legendary Tower of Insolence and its ruler, Bayum.
To accomplish the impossible, Zikhart formed an unlikely alliance with the Death Lord Hallate. The expedition was aided by the dark elf Frikius, who deciphered ancient texts explaining the power of Bayum's blood. After revealing this knowledge, Frikius mysteriously disappeared, leaving his true motives unknown.
As preparations continued, Zikhart recruited mercenaries from across Aden. Among them were ambitious warriors, healers, and veterans drawn by his reputation rather than wealth alone. Inside Giran, the army trained under the command of Erika and the orc captain Shagdun while engineers repaired the castle and craftsmen forged new equipment.
The campaign into the Tower of Insolence proved far more dangerous than expected. Every floor was defended by undead warriors, demons, monstrous wolves, and elite guardians. Although Hallate's forces fought beside the expedition, neither side fully trusted the other. Every victory came at the cost of heavy casualties as soldiers advanced through deadly corridors toward Bayum's domain.
Throughout the campaign, the story also explores the personal struggles of its key characters. Erika struggles with the burden of leadership, Shagdun confronts memories of his exile from the Orc Kingdom, and Zikhart demonstrates the determination that transformed him from an overlooked mercenary into one of the most influential leaders in Aden.
The assault on the Tower of Insolence became more than a military campaign. It was a clash of ambition, loyalty, sacrifice, and betrayal that forever changed the history of Lineage 2 and set the stage for the confrontation with the legendary Emperor Bayum.
